The gardens, main lodge and some of the buildings at Chico Hot Springs. |
During our weekday get-away, we had lovely weather and enjoyed the fall colors. Driving back home through Yellowstone Park, we had expected to see some herds of elk. It was the wrong time of day though -
the only animals we saw were a few scattered herds of buffalo, and a lone elk cow cooling herself down in the river. We've actually seen more wildlife at home this week, than during our quick trip through the Park. There seems to be extra-large numbers of birds, voles, and deer all about.
This guy was peering in our window right before I took this photo. Since he had just eaten about half the flowers off my chrysanthemum plant, I asked him to kindly move along!
I hope you have a lovely weekend - see you here next Tuesday!
Looks like you had a great time celebrating your anniversary! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWe did have a wonderful time - thanks Rena!
DeleteHappy Anniversary! It must be so magical to be surrounded by wildlife...or it it a nuisance?
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful - although it does make gardening a challenge, and wildlife on the road is never fun. My philosophy though, is that 'they were here first'!
DeleteGlad you had a lovely time celebrating 25 years - and I'm quite amazed at your backyard deer!
ReplyDeleteThanks Leanne! We are so used to all the deer, we sometimes forget not everyone has that type of neighbor!
DeleteBackyard garden munchers must be a very mixed blessing.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a lovely weekend away.
A very mixed blessing!
DeleteHope you had a great weekend Susan. We just got back from a little getaway for our anniversary too. We had some very close up views of black bears - but we stayed in our car to get their picture!
ReplyDeleteI saw your bear photo on Instagram Lana - it is award worthy! So glad you had fun as well - congratulations! Hard to believe 25 years ago we were a week apart getting ready for our wedding days, and a year ago we were just weeks apart publishing our first blog posts. What is next for us?!
DeleteIt looks like a lovely area to spend a weekend...or longer. :)
ReplyDeleteThe resort is one of our very favorite places to go and relax!
