It's the Weekend!

The weekend seems to have come up quickly, probably because my husband and I spent Monday/Tuesday celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary at Chico Hot Springs in Pray, Montana in the beautiful Paradise Valley. (Yes - those are real names!)

During our weekday get-away, we had lovely weather and enjoyed the fall colors. Driving back home through Yellowstone Park, we had expected to see some herds of elk. It was the wrong time of day though -

the only animals we saw were a few scattered herds of buffalo, and a lone elk cow cooling herself down in the river.

By the way, I used a zoom lens, so I was not nearly as close to this elk as the photo makes it appear. Too many Yellowstone tourists make that mistake!!

We've actually seen more wildlife at home this week, than during our quick trip through the Park. There seems to be extra-large numbers of birds, voles, and deer all about.
This guy was peering in our window right before I took this photo. Since he had just eaten about half the flowers off my chrysanthemum plant, I asked him to kindly move along!

The forecast is predicting that the hot and summery weather we had yesterday will continue today.  I hope so - and I'd love it if the weather would continue just like this indefinitely!
