Exactly one year ago on August 5th, I published an article about self-esteem and women's inner voices of self-doubt. I feel strongly enough about this topic that I am providing the link to that post again today.
Just click here to read it:
Mirror, mirror on the Wall: Tell Every Woman She IS Enough!I hope you will read - or reread - my article, and then share its message with someone else.
My inner voices of self-doubt still need some squelching, but I am recommitted to working on that. I hope that by publishing this I have also reminded you to believe that you are enough!
Watching this video every August 5th might be a good idea. Just like scheduling a pap smear and a mammogram, perhaps we should also have an annual checkup about our self esteem!
Make sure your inner voice is saying #I'mEnough !
What do you see when you look in the mirror?
This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog. Check them out!
Just a reminder:
If you are interested in participating in the weekly Words for Wednesday Challenge that I sometimes use to write a piece of fiction, remember that this month the words are being published by Jacqueline, on her blog Randomosity.
Susan we need to be healthy and strong, and not pay attention to all the nonsense and hype out there that tries to make us feel like we are not perfect enough or that we need this or that product to be better ! Thanks for sharing to remind all of us of this very important message.
ReplyDeleteEspecially since so many of the messages we received are airbrushed or altered!
DeleteI think we should all watch this video often. Such a great message and so well done!
ReplyDeleteI agree - it is something we all need to be reminded of once in a while.
DeleteSadly I never DO feel enough. And do my best to not look in mirrors. Or windows. Not enough physically or indeed in any other way.
ReplyDeleteThis is an important message. My head tells me it is right, it is necessary, it is essential. The negative voices shout very loudly though.
A work in progress.
You are more than enough. I'm proud to know you.
DeleteI totally agree with River, EC. Although I have never met you in person, through our blogs I have learned a lot from you, and your perspective is always admirable. Tell those negative voices to go away!!
DeleteOne of the best things about getting older (and wiser?) is that I've learnt to accept myself more - but at the same time that little voice in my head still reminds me of all the things I'm not "enough". Blogging is such a great way of building each other up and I loved your post :) ~ Leanne
ReplyDeleteThanks Leanne. You (and your blog) do an excellent job of setting an example of how we should all appreciate middle age.
DeleteI remember this post very well. It's always been one of my favorites. I glad you decided to rerun it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Rena. It seemed a message worth sharing again.
DeleteBathing Suit? What's that? (*~*)
ReplyDeleteWhen I look in the mirror, I see me. Older, fatter, but still me and I've always liked who/what I am.
You have just summed up what I hope we can all learn from this post. Bravo River!
DeleteTearing up here, Susan. Such a lovely video. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI have cried a tear or two each time I've watched the video as well Kelly!
