Good Advice! |
Remembering to think before we speak, and to always consider the impact of our words is a diplomatic skill to have. This quote is good advice, whether it refers to being kind or only speaking when one has something worthwhile to say.
Today, even though I generally post on Fridays, I don't have an article of any real value prepared to publish here. Instead, I will just encourage you to think about this advice ... and I will have something to say tomorrow!
Happy Friday!
This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog. Check them out!
Excellent advice - an oldie but goodie!
ReplyDeleteThere is a reason the old sayings are still around - they truly are goodies! Thanks for commenting on this post Amy!
DeleteMy mother always said this and it is some of the best advice ever, Sadly, very few people adhere to it.
ReplyDeleteI think mothers with more than one children may use this phrase a lot. I remember my mom reciting it to us, when my sisters and I were bickering at each other!
DeleteOh yes. And have you ever noticed that the people who use that dreadful phrase 'I thought you ought to know...' hadn't listened to their mothers?
ReplyDeleteYes ... and any time a sentence is prefaced by "No offense, but ..." - you know nothing good is coming!
DeleteAnd I say you said plenty! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteThanks Diane. Maybe I need to remember this post - and how a lot can be said with only a few words!
DeleteThis is especially true online! So many times I see comments that have no real meaning other than to tear somebody down!
ReplyDeleteI never can understand how the people who make all those negative comments have enough energy to do so Rena. I can't keep up with saying all the positive stuff that I want to!
DeleteI agree with Rena - maybe we should change it to "if you don't have anything good to type...." :)
ReplyDeleteYes Lana or... "if you don't have anything good to say OR type...."
