As a child, if feels like Christmas will never come soon enough.
I love this photo, taken of my children when they were younger. I don't remember the specifics of their conversation, but I suspect my daughter was telling my son all about how Santa was going to get down that chimney. We were never allowed to light a fire on Christmas Eve, as the kids were sure the embers would still be burning when Santa arrived!
Waiting for Santa - and checking the chimney! |
Wishing you a weekend of contentment and joy ... and all the hours you need to feel rested and ready, for whatever holiday celebrations you have planned.
Are you organized - or overwhelmed?
Happy Holidays - and Happy weekend!
My folks always told me that when I got older time would just fly by....they didn't mention it would be jet propelled.
ReplyDeleteMy parents said the same thing. They still say it keeps accelerating - so they have me worried! I'll never keep up! Happy holidays Delores!
DeleteI'm never done shopping for gifts until the last second. I've even sent my husband out late on Christmas Eve for last minute stocking stuffers. I'm a pretty organized person, but every year I struggle in this area! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean! For me, it is about equality. Then, when I am trying to even things up, I see something else for one of my kids ... which means I am back to shopping again for the other! lol! Happy holidays Marie! I loved your glimpse today of what it really means to be a family!
DeleteThat photo is adorable! I love how excited your daughter looks. My parents will be here tonight so I'm scrambling today trying to finish everything up. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck getting everything done Lana! From the looks of your home tour yesterday, you are more than “company ready”. I loved your photo of your kids today too! It takes a special kind of teenager to pose on Santa's lap so mom can get a picture!
DeleteThey exhibit that "the wonder of Christmas" look!
ReplyDeleteThat is exactly the phase they were in! Have a wonderful holiday season Carol!
DeleteFor some reason this year I feel like we haven't been as busy or rushed. It's been nice. I'm actually ready for the Christmas season to be over so my chef/husband can be home again!! December is too crazy when you work in a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteLove the picture of the kids. :-)
I am sure it would be a busy time for him - hope you get some time together on Christmas Day Jennifer!
DeleteSlowly getting there. The Christmas PJ's are done - that is the big job. Next? The Christmas Bears. Then we're ready! :)
ReplyDeleteDidn't know what you meant about Christmas Bears until I saw your post with the photo of them. You must have more hours in your day than the rest of us Diane. I don't know how you accomplish all that you do!
DeleteThis year I have put such little effort into Christmas that it is embarrassing! Tonight is our Christmas family dinner and I am serving KFC for the first time in history if that tells you anything!
ReplyDeleteRena - you have put your efforts into what has been needed this year .... and your daughter and grand babies appreciate that more than any meal. I am sure KFC was perfect!
