It's Contagious. And Okay if You Pass It On.

Lewis Carroll Quote

I'm not writing much today, because I want to be sure you have enough time to view this video from Life Vest Inside.  It's well worth watching - all the way to the end.

When my children were small, we had a picture book called Just in Passing, by Susan Bonners.  It was one of our favorite books to look through - page after page showed a yawn being passed from one person to the next until if finally gets back to the baby who yawned on the first page.

Acts of kindness are a little like a yawn.  Contagious.

An act of kindness.  Is there a better way to make the most of a moment?

What is the kindest thing a stranger has ever done for you?

This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog. Check them out!

  1. Oh I've been pushed out of the snow, had doors opened for me....lots of little acts of kindness.

    1. My guess is the recipient remembers acts of kindness long after the person who has done them.

  3. Thank you for sharing this today Susan! It's so easy to do something kind for someone - and our world would be a better place if we all did! Thank you for the reminder.

    1. OUr world really would be a better place - one small act plus others and the sum is greater than the parts.

  4. A few years ago on Christmas Eve I was doing some last minute Christmas perishable shopping. The woman two ahead of me at the check out didn't have enough money for her purchase (green peppers) and put them down at the check out and walked away. I still regret not jumping in and paying for it (less than two dollars). Badly regret it.
    Small kindnesses are huge.

    1. I have let opportunities slip by like that as well. Probably best not to beat yourselves up over it - but just be ready the next time. And who knows ... perhaps because that woman didn't have her green peppers, she ended up trying a different dish that has become a family favorite :)

  5. I had gotten a call that mu hubby had gotten hurt in a chainsaw accident and in my panic just ran out of the house to the ER. and forgot my purse. I was low on gas and ran out halfway there. An older couple from out of state gave me a ride to the hospital. My husband had lost a finger but was in emergency surgery getting it repaired. I walked out to the waiting room aand that couple was still sitting there waiting to here how he was. It was so sweet!

    1. Oh - I would have panicked too. I know too many people who have been injured with chainsaws! Glad to hear your husband's finger could be reattached!! What a nice couple to help you and be there for you. Definitely an act of kindness!

  6. I get so excited when I see an opportunity to help a stranger that I have started looking for chances to do that. It is so rewarding. I highly recommend it!
