Beauty All Around - Even Where We Least Expect It

The exquisite wonders of our world can sometimes almost smack us in the face. Recently, this happened to me (literally).  Here is the photo of what I saw.

I didn't have to step into a museum to see this lovely piece. I do think, though, that it is very pretty and interesting enough to be considered museum quality.

Reader's Digest magazine has done a series of articles where they invite the reader to look at a photograph twice. Initially, it is often unrecognizable for what it really is.  When you turn over the page, another perspective of the scene or object is shown, making it clear what you have just been looking at.

I didn't think to take another picture to put this photo in perspective, so I will just have to explain what you see here.

What you are looking at is a photograph of the front window of my car - in an automatic car wash!

Usually, I am a little claustrophobic as my car is rocking on its axles while being pummeled by sprays and brushes.  Sometimes I even close my eyes and take a few deep breaths.  The day I took this photo though, I was distracted by the beauty that appeared before my eyes.

I love how this photo turned out. There are even three tiny hearts near the center of the picture - can you find them?

Beauty is everywhere around us - even in the most unlikely settings.

I'd love to hear about the most unusual source of beauty you see this week!

This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog. Check them out!

    1. It is, isn't it?! Better to admire the art on my windshield than get claustrophobic while my car gets cleaned!

  7. That is so neat and cool and awesome - what I mean the picture is great but more amazing is that you seen it and was aware of it enough to "stop and smell the flowers" I am convinced that I don't see anything that strikes awe - because I am too preoccupied with my head - a constant dialog and not noticing life, things, pretty things , amazing things .

Thank you for reminding me - that there is beauty- wonderment - and stopping always.

  9. The prettiest thing I saw this week were all the flower's that everybody got for walking (each color representing whether you are an advocate, Caregiving, patient or lost somebody) they put them around the ball field and we got them back at the end of the walk. When we walked back into the ball field they were all over the outfield spinning in the breeze. Beautiful!

  16. Great perspective! Sometimes we need a reminder to slow down and find the beauty in life, because then we will also find happiness.

  17. You are absolutely right. Beauty is all over... seeing it is about slowing down and looking. We can't do this every moment or we'd never get anything done, but have some time during the week to let go of our agenda and be open to whatever is in our path can be refreshing and nourishing for sure!

    1. That is good advice, Seana! Actually, being in a car wash is a good place to slow down a bit, because while the car is being washed there really isn't any way you can do anything!

  18. I Love the car wash! It brings me such joy :-) Our has a soap gun that the kids can use to squirt the cars as they roll past.
