I didn't have to step into a museum to see this lovely piece. I do think, though, that it is very pretty and interesting enough to be considered museum quality.
Reader's Digest magazine has done a series of articles where they invite the reader to look at a photograph twice. Initially, it is often unrecognizable for what it really is. When you turn over the page, another perspective of the scene or object is shown, making it clear what you have just been looking at.
I didn't think to take another picture to put this photo in perspective, so I will just have to explain what you see here.
What you are looking at is a photograph of the front window of my car - in an automatic car wash!
Usually, I am a little claustrophobic as my car is rocking on its axles while being pummeled by sprays and brushes. Sometimes I even close my eyes and take a few deep breaths. The day I took this photo though, I was distracted by the beauty that appeared before my eyes.
I love how this photo turned out. There are even three tiny hearts near the center of the picture - can you find them?
Beauty is everywhere around us - even in the most unlikely settings.
I'd love to hear about the most unusual source of beauty you see this week!

I love this...accidental hearts :)
ReplyDeletePretty cool, isn't it?!
DeleteI love this post - it's the essence of what your blog is about! Really cool picture - and I love the hearts!
ReplyDeleteThanks Lana. I didn't see the hearts until I was posting the picture - but now they seem really obvious to me! A gift from the car wash!
DeleteLove this idea - will be on the look out for unusual beauty in unexpected places.
ReplyDeleteWe really do live in a beautiful world!
DeleteI did know what it was, and I agree: beauty is all around us, sometimes in small flashes we wouldn't expect.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't sure how obvious the source of the photo would be - thanks for commenting and letting me know there was some mystery to it, Karen!
DeleteI thought that was where you were! What a lovely eye to see beauty in what most people would consider the mundane. It's always good for the soul to look for the beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteIt is good for the soul!! Glad you liked it - and good for you for figuring it out!
DeleteBeauty is all around us...love the thought and I love to look for it everywhere.
ReplyDeleteA good place to start is on your blog Pam - I often see pretty things there!
DeleteThat's cool. And a great example of making the most of every moment! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it?! Better to admire the art on my windshield than get claustrophobic while my car gets cleaned!
DeleteThat is so neat and cool and awesome - what I mean the picture is great but more amazing is that you seen it and was aware of it enough to "stop and smell the flowers" I am convinced that I don't see anything that strikes awe - because I am too preoccupied with my head - a constant dialog and not noticing life, things, pretty things , amazing things .
ReplyDeleteThank you for reminding me - that there is beauty- wonderment - and stopping always.
:)
It is easy to get preoccupied by life ... !
DeleteIt's Halloween! I saw a skull in pretty foam!
ReplyDeleteNow I have to go look for that!
DeleteThe prettiest thing I saw this week were all the flower's that everybody got for walking (each color representing whether you are an advocate, Caregiving, patient or lost somebody) they put them around the ball field and we got them back at the end of the walk. When we walked back into the ball field they were all over the outfield spinning in the breeze. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice idea for the ceremony! I bet the flowers were beautiful!
DeleteBeauty is all around us. The important thing is that we open our eyes and notice! Thank you for this.
ReplyDeleteI have found that I am always on the lookout for interesting and beautiful things, since I began taking photos for my blog!
Deletei love that - beauty is all around us
ReplyDeleteYes - it really is. We live in an amazing world!
DeleteThose tiny hearts, priceless. I love this post so much, and it's given me a new way to look at the world around me
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you liked it. Those hearts just appeared when I looked at the photo! I didn't really notice them on the windshield!
DeleteI thought that was soap but what a lovely little surprise to find the hearts.
ReplyDeleteGood for you for figuring it out - and yes, finding hearts is always fun! I have a collection of heart shaped rocks from over the years!
DeleteI guessed correctly on your G+ post, but the joy is those little hearts. Awesome! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you liked it, Linda. And yes - isn't it wonderful how hearts sometimes just appear?!

Great perspective! Sometimes we need a reminder to slow down and find the beauty in life, because then we will also find happiness.
ReplyDeleteThere is happiness in finding the beauty in life. I agree.
DeleteYou are absolutely right. Beauty is all over... seeing it is about slowing down and looking. We can't do this every moment or we'd never get anything done, but have some time during the week to let go of our agenda and be open to whatever is in our path can be refreshing and nourishing for sure!
ReplyDeleteThat is good advice, Seana! Actually, being in a car wash is a good place to slow down a bit, because while the car is being washed there really isn't any way you can do anything!
DeleteI Love the car wash! It brings me such joy :-) Our has a soap gun that the kids can use to squirt the cars as they roll past.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I bet kids have a blast with that!
