To Give is Truly to Receive

I saw the following video on Facebook this week, and there are no words (in any language) that I could add here to make it any more meaningful, or more important.  Its message is about making the most of not just our own moments - but the moments of people all around us.

I hope you take three minutes (3:01 minutes, to be exact) to watch this clip to the very end.  I found the whole thing heartwarming, but there was a particular moment that made my pulse jolt - and then my heart flood with relief.

I challenge all of us to perform similar selfless acts of kindness today, and every day.
I'm calling the Red Cross today to make an appointment to donate blood.

What unexpected benefits have you experienced by helping or being kind to someone else?

This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog.  Check them out!

  1. What a beautiful video - thank you so much for sharing it! Even small, kind acts can have so much meaning to the other person. If we all did this, our world would be 1000 times better!

    1. Yes - it would. I have watched this video a few times now. It has really made me think about how sometimes the best gift to receive is just seeing that you have made someone else's world a little better.

    1. You are welcome - I am grateful to the people who created this video - and to my cousin for putting it on her Facebook, as that is where I first saw it.

He gets nothing - he gets everything. And the everything he receives is priceless.

  4. That was so beautiful! I just got home from a team captains meeting for the Walk to End Alzheimer's this evening and I saw this when I got home plus I have been challenged to do the #plungeforalzheimers so I will be throwing myself into a body of water this weekend and posting it on fb for the world to see! So now I'm feeling very inspired, thank you!

    1. When is the walk Rena? Good luck with the plunge! Glad I could help get you ready - maybe you should watch the video right before you hit the water! You didn't need to watch it at all though - pretty sure you already live according to its message!
