I sometimes ponder life's little mysteries as I go about my daily tasks. Today, I started wondering if anyone knows all - or any - of the answers to my questions. Then I remembered that I have a blog! I can ask my readers and they may provide some insight. I'm hoping someone can help me solve these mysteries.
The little mysteries I am thinking about this week all have to do with laundry! (That's probably because I have done so much of it today!)
Looks like my helper has been sleeping on the job! |
Have you ever wondered about these questions like I do:
1. Why are there are never enough hangers?
2. Why is the laundry hamper full, after I just did all the laundry?
3. Why do I never see the stain, until after the item comes out of the dryer?
4. Why is there an unmatched sock in nearly every load?
5. Why does the cat like to sleep in the laundry basket of clean clothes better than the dirty ones?
Cat fur all over the clean clothes - I may have to get new help! |
You may not think these questions are so mysterious - but I wonder about them all the time.
I will look forward to your answers for any of these questions!
This post may be linked to one of the great link-up parties I follow and list on my blog. Check them out!
When you get the answers, let me know because I have the SAME questions!
ReplyDeleteSo, it's not just me! Let's hope someone can help us figure this out! :)
DeleteI have a few questions of my own...
ReplyDelete1. why does the hubs take all the hangers down to the laundry and then bring up all the clothes neatly folded and in need of a hanger?
2. where does the laundry detergent go between washing days? I'll swear on a Bible there was lots in the container when I left the laundry room last week.
3. If I washed all the dish cloths how come there are none up here in the dish cloth drawer and none downstairs in the clean clothes pile? Where have they gone?
4. I clean the lint trap regularly and wipe the outside trap as well....why are there ropes of lint blowing around the floor in the laundry room?
and finally, 5. There's just the two of us....how can we possibly have this much laundry every week?
All of that IS a puzzle, Delores!! It does seem like there is some mysterious force at work!
DeleteAnd where do the tissues hide? I go through every pocket. Carefully. And all too often open the washing machine to discover oodles and oodles of tissue confetti all over everything in the load. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteThat is so maddening - I check pockets too, and have no idea where they come from. The worst was when I washed, then dried (MELT) a lipstick!
DeleteLove the look on your cat's face in the second picture - he really does seem to be saying, who me? I actually enjoy doing laundry, which is a good thing because the men in my house seem to go through at least three changes of clothes a day! My laundry basket is always full too. I think these mysteries may never be solved.
ReplyDeleteMy cat does seem like he can talk! There are a lot of outfits/ athletic apparel worn in a day at my house too!
Delete#1,3, and 5 especially apply to me!!!! Love the photos of your lazy kitty who definitely looks insulted that you would suggest he "lift a paw" with the laundry!
ReplyDeleteThat pretty much sums up my cat!
DeleteI have absolutely NO answers for these questions - and have quite a few of my own. Laundry is the number one chore challenge at our house! We struggle constantly. The washer and dryer runs nearly all day long - every day, and still someone comes in nearly every day wanting to know where their (specific piece of laundry) is. Laundry "disappears" for long periods of time only to show up later in the drawer or closet of someone who obviously would not be wearing that article! And it never fails that someone needs to rush out the door soon and needs their (specific piece of laundry), which is still in a pile in the laundry room waiting to be washed. (big sigh!)
ReplyDeleteAnd just this past weekend, after getting home from a week-long vacation, and washing and washing clothes, we had the "kittens in the clean laundry basket" scenario! Oh well, life goes on…and so does laundry! I'm just grateful for the people to wash laundry for. :)
We sometimes have the case of the disappearing laundry at my house as well!
DeleteHmmm . . laundry conundrums. Well . . . the hanger one, I still haven't figured out. But the others, I have a theory on: 2. laundry breeds. Don't let it touch! 3. Stains of always made with disappearing-reappearing ink. 4. In every load of laundry, one sock must be sent to the hozone as a sacrifice. 5. Cats are too smart for their own good. (Although in this case, I agree . . .)
ReplyDeleteSome answers! Thanks Diane! And yes, cats are too smart for their own good - or for mine, anyway!
